This past weekend Ledson Motorsports team driver, Cole Smith-Ledson brought home the 2009 Simcoe Kart Club Novice Championship. Capping off the season in Sutton with two stellar victories, Cole drove away from his competition to seal the first championship of his short karting career.
Also racing at Sutton, Nick navigated his way to second overall in the Jr. Light class. Steadily showing strong results week-in week-out, Nick came up just short of the title, but also ended his year with a win in the Jr. Heavy class. Moving up a class for the final race of the year, Nick took no abuse on track and scored the victory to end the year on a high note.
The team is now into overdrive as they finish up the final events of the season. After competing in the Rocket Robbie Enduro in Sutton, the Oktoberfest Grand Prix in Flamboro and the Ultimate Karting Championship enduro in Leamington, the team will begin to prepare for next season.

Nick Earns first BSRKC Win of the Year!July 13, 2009
This past weekend the Ledson Motorsports Team travelled to Flamboro Speedway for race four of the Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship. After beautiful skies allowed for many practice sessions on Friday, a wild thunderstorm halted competition on Saturday morning. After the large amount of water was pumped away from the racing surface, racing resumed on track. In Mini-Max action, Nick placed his kart on the pole position. Due to the weather delay, race officials called off the pre-finals and Nick lined up first for the main event. From the drop of the green flag Nick was in cruise control and drove to his first BSRKC win of the year. In Jr. Medium, Nick wasn't as lucky as he could only manage a seventh place finish.
On Sunday the sun came back out and a full schedule was lined up for all classes. In qualifying, Nick positioned himself in the top ten in Jr. Light with the largest class of year thus far. Keeping his nose clean in both the pre-final and final, he would cross the finish line in 6th place. In Novice action, Cole showed steady improvement in each session on track and finished the day with a solid 7th place finish in Novice, the largest class of the day.

3 More Wins for Ledson MotorsportsJuly 6, 2009
Ledson Motorsports team drivers Nick and Cole Ledson combined for three feature wins and five total podiums this past weekend. On Saturday the team travelled to Flamboro Speedway in preparation of next weekend BSRKC race. Nick entered the Jr. Light class as well as the trial Jr Rotax/Mini-Max class. Two solid heats placed him up from for the final and he kept the leader in sight all race, but just couldn't make the move without risking the entire race. Crossing the finish line in second place the team started off the weekend very well. Cole lined up with 16 other karts in the ultra competitive Novice class. Posting three heat results of 9-9-8, Cole completed the day in 8th overall. Following the Novice class Nick joined the Rotax Juniors for a trial run before next weekend events. Keeping pace and even making attempts to pass the much quicker Juniors, Nick scored the win in the Mini-Max following the juniors across the line.
The following day the team travelled back to their home track to do battle at Sutton. As he has done all year, Nick dominated the Mini-Max class and scored another victory. In Jr. Light, small fields forced officials to join the class with the Jr. Heavy's. Not holding back, Nick placed 5th in qualifying, 2nd overall in Jr Light. Then followed it up with a fourth in the pre-final and a fourth in the final, placing second in Jr Light for the day and adding another podium to his weekend. Cole also had a stellar run in Cadet, as he qualified third, then drove to earn the victory in both the pre-final and final.
